I have noted the plate details..you can see that it is a Melbourne-assembled chassis. These are all the SM-E52-448 trucks that I now know of, ex-Melbourne. Note the variation of the M for Melbourne code, and its absence:

3844361290 ENGINE # PR3,946,268 SM-E52-448 SEPTEMBER 22 1944 AUS M [MELBOURNE-ASSEMBLED]
38443M61406 ENGINE # PR3,946,459 SM-E52-448 OCTOBER 25 1944 AUS M [25 10 44] [WO96]
3844361436 SW-E52-448 [WO98]
3844361442M ENGINE # PR3,946,252 8 NOVEMBER 1944 [MELBOURNE-ASSEMBLED] SM-E52-448 [WO83S]
3844361308M ENGINE # PR3,94,6264 SM-E52-448 [WO96] 26 SEPTEMBER 1944

The truck was cut off behind cab another old truck chassis fitted, longer thicker, fish plated, massive brake booster, another t/case turned upside down to drive a winch, at least 2 tonne on front bumper ( springs inverted ). will be on the market soon as a yard crane. Will post pics when its available. Rear of chassis long gone.
