Default Morris CDSW

Hi Guys, Can anyone help with details of a CDFW inter vehicle starting plug mounted on the rear left hand side of the above (what were inter vehicle starting methods pre and early WWII??), the spare battery crate mounted left hand side behind the POL cans and finally the flood lights and flood light box mounted behind the POL cans on the right hand rear side. Any help gratefully received.
Cheers T

Default slave cables

Starting assistance.

Can't speak with any authority on jumper cables, except that as a Canadian I've been damned glad to own a couple sets. The US pattern Jeeps and M-series vehicles I'm familiar with, have a big double prong receptible somewhere handy. A select few vehicles would carry a jeezly heavy double-ended rubber cable to 'slave' the dead vehicle. I've seen pictures of slave cables on M113s in Vietnam, so the technique was well established in the mid 60's. Civilians still have to rely on less robust cables with springy hand clips to connect positive to positive, negative to negative.

I'm no expert on the CDSW and I presume you are referring to the Breakdown version. attached is a picture of the nearside rear of a preserved example seen last weekend at the North East Millitary Vehicle Club display at durham; I will look in the programme later to see if I can give you the owner's name.

If we are talking CDSW and not CDFW as mentioned in the first post? Rory Ballard ( noted Morris expert) is doing a ground up restoration on one. Like in the previous picture. He's situated near Southampton. Email me for his contact details. ronpier@talk21.com

The owner is Richard Campbrell who lives in County Durham, You may have had a PM from S Latherton who confirmed the above to me and gave the NEMVC Secretary’s phone No as 0191 528 6252
Here's the club's website http://www.nemvc.org.uk/about_us/index.htm
You may also find some help in a series of 1:76 scale drawings by Mr G.W. Lacey [got mine in 2003 - for modelling, not restoration] 315A South Lane, New Malden, Surrey, KT3 5RR

Here's a few more photos of Mr Campbell's vehicle
Enjoy, Noel
