I was searching for some previous postings related to water pumps on the CMP truck engines and the many variants between 216 original engines and the 235/261 later engine model for some discussion with Phil Waterman.

The search feature led me to the Hammond Barn thread and ALL its many postings.

I never realized, until now, how much information just one thread contained.... going back to the initial first posting and scrolling through all the various topics..... changing seasons..... getting fatter every year.... it was like having the last 5 years of my life run in front of me....

Well I found what I was looking for.....but I also discovered this.....

We have a tremendous facility and opportunity through the MLU forum for learning, exchanging information, and preserving rare tid bits of CMP knowledge..... not to mention all the long distance friendships we have developed......

Geoff I want to thank you for all you have done for us .... you have made a difference in my life.

You're very welcome, Boobee, but it's I who should be thanking you.

All I did was create the semblance of a website and a forum to compliment it - it's been you and people like you who have made it what it's become by choosing to share your vast knowledge and ever-developing experience over the last 11 years, thus giving MLU a truly human perspective.

Yes, it's been hard at times, frustrating occasionally and certainly expensive, but these aspects are not what count; what counts is the utter uniqueness of what we have built and the extraordinary worldwide network of friends and acquaintances we have brought together over time - this, truly, is the essence of MLU.

For me personally, the positives far outweigh the negatives and have done so since the beginning. I'll go further to say that while I could have followed others by trying to turn this into an income-generating operation, the simple fact is that MLU would just not be the same! As it stands now, we have brought together an extraordinary collection of experts and novices alike, in virtually every field associated with our multiple spheres of interest, all of whom and which compliment each other over and over and over again, every day.

This year, I will indeed be bringing out some MLU-related merchandise to continue to build upon the amazing comradery already established here, and I hope it will bring us all yet that much closer together. In the meantime, I thank the many of you who have donated to help keep this running over the years (every little bit does help!) and I encourage you to continue to share your enthusiasm and expertise as you have done to-date.

I salute you all.
