What are these vehicles x2
This time last week, I received a hand written note in my post box, saying the author had some Ford Blitz components he didn't want any longer. He lives three roads over from me, so I went to see what he had. I was a little disappointed (but my Wife wasn't) that the two rolling chassis he has are not CMP at all. One has MH in raised letters on the front hub centres, so I assume that's Marmon Herington, but beyond that, I have know idea beyond fact they were both wearing flathead v8 engines the "MH" still has it's engine, the other chassis doesn't. Water pumps on the engine that's there are single pulley type, and distributor is divers bell, so I believe that engine is late 30s or very early 40s. No body panels exist for either vehicle.
I will post all the photos I took of the two vehicles, and ask for any information I can give the owner, because he has no idea what they are now that he is aware they aren't CMPs. I'll do my best not to mix the photos, but no promises! 20160709_161239-resized-1024.jpg 20160709_161132-resized-1024.jpg 20160709_161113-resized-1024.jpg 20160709_161212-resized-1024.jpg 20160709_161344-resized-1024.jpg

This chassis intrigues me. I really like the way front and rear ends are constructed with the tracking rods. Fascinatingly constructed. The spring sets are VERY thick, and there are overriders with stops. This was a very strong looking truck.

I really don't want nor need another project, but I also don't want to see these old trucks get scrapped. I know the owner doesn't want them. They are in his way, and he's sick of having them around. From speaking with him, I think if I offer a couple of hundred or so, I could get the one without engine. Maybe a little more for the engined chassis could get me that one as well. Before I even consider thinking about any offer of prices, I want to know what the hell I'm looking at. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks Guys!

Red one is a 1938 Ford with mechanical brakes I think. The other a Ford/Marmon Herrington gun tractor chassis most likely.

Are either of these sufficiently sought after to warrant making offer/s for them?
Sadly, the MH chassis has a rather damaged rear cross member. That would have to be repaired. I guess they are a good source of parts if restoring one already.
