artillery manpower percentage WW2
does anyone know what the percentage was for the artillery(manpower) in the Cdn Army in 1944-45, i have a figure of 18% for 21st Army Group this compared with 14% for the infantry.

I thought that there would be some info for you in Blackburn's trilogy...but I could find no stats other than number, calibre and capacity of the guns...no personnel figures.

Jon, that what i thought........and i am sure most people here thought the museum would have the answer, but so far it has eluded me as well, but i cant find any reference, book by M/Gen Burns just after the war has some stats but they are harder to break down, and Stacey`s set of books doesnt have it either, thanks or the imput. i will keep looking.

Hello Clive and Rick...
and thank you Rick for braving the cold Manitoba temps to venture out to one of your museum sheds to measure and give me the dimensions of the sprare barrel Bofors box you have there. It most certainly helped me out with the construction of the spare barrel carrier in my LAAT. See you in spring for pictures of said box for duplication , if we can work that out. Gunner percents
Hi Clive:
There's an obscure book called "Manpower in the Canadian Army" or words to that effect, that has the kinds of breakdowns you are looking for. It was published shortly after the war if I remember correctly. I have a copy somewhere but cannot access it as I am 'outre-mer' enjoying some scuba diving 'su-mer' in Florida. Cheers! Mike
