CMP fuel pump and dizzy????
Has any one ever seen a CMP fuel pump with the metal bowl on top instead of glass.........BUT with a hand lever on the outside that allows to hand prime the pump........ I have one onmyMassey diesel tractor circa 1974....never seen one on A CMP......
Question number 2........ ever seen a 216 distributor in which the inside plate that holds the points/condenser si "isolated" from the mainbody of the dizzy and has a separate connection for grouding the plate....... the inside has a semi circle of black plastic that prevents the clip mounting bracket screws from grounding the bottom plate.....??? I am trying to get a better picture to see the serial number from underneath the condenser.........Could it be for a radio truck??? Curious????

1110090
Hi Bob, all I can find is part #1110090 changed to #1112353 on 7-1-50. When I tried to find the #1112353 my parts book said removed from service. It would be interesting to know what it was used in.

Distributor
Hi Bob, it seems that the number 1110090 is a 216 distributor from 1940 to 48 and the 1112353 distributor is 1950 to 52. I found another distributor on EBay with the same insulation on the plate as your distributor.

Here is reply from a Dekco-Remy site....
Never heard of a polarity reversing switch on a CMP but engine in CMP frame was not original 216.......
Thanks guys. Posted 5 hours ago 1941-1942 Chevrolet 216. Those years had a reversing switch that changed polarity to the points each time the starter foot pedal was activated. The theory was to prolong point life. After frequent failures the switch was bypassed with a dedicated ground to the plate terminal. Note that points with a different part number are used in that distributor. 7L2 is probably the date code. December (L) 7, 1942

Fuel pump with a hand primer pump built in....
Probably civilian market for specialized application such as a standby unit or other static application where the engine may not have been started often.....but it does fit on a 216 engine block.....
