19 Set and Extras
I had good intentions of making my M38Cdn into a radio jeep but decided to change directions. As you can see from the pictures, I have accumulated a lot of items that may or may not interest you including a vehicle radio wiring kit. To be honest I don't know what a fair price is for the whole lot (preferred sale) or individual pieces (I'll entertain options) but shoot me a reasonable offer and we can go from there. I'm willing to crate and ship....or we could meet up as I will be around AB and SK this summer at various car shows.
I can get more detailed pictures upon request. Call or text Pete @ 780-815-3871

Condition of the PS.....
Hi Peter
Any idea if the 110 volts power supply is operational..... and would you consider building a sturdy wooden box to ship to Ottawa by UPS???? shipping and handling and asking price......? I shipped the guts of a CMP rear axle to Vancouver......... best way to pack is to wrap everything in plastic bags then inject the dead space with insulation foam.... on all four sides..... we can discuss on my home page rac1812 at aol.com Bob C

If it is working there are a few ways to keep it working. The original 6X5 would develop a heater to plate short thus grounding the B+ resulting in the winding burning out. I replaced all the 6X5s (all 4) with 6X5WGT which is the mil spec version. Ratings are the same but structure is stronger. I also use a variac to power up the set bringing it up to 110VAC. The input range is 90 - 135 VAC but why take a chance. The set works just fine. The output voltages in the manual are for 115VAC input but modern line voltage is usually a bit higher which will result in higher secondary voltage. I've used this method for the last 15 years without any problems.

To close the loop.......
...... I was able to find a 110 v. PS in the Ottawa area thereby saving on shipping cost.
Thanks to all who offered to help. Bob C. PS....... the 6x5WGT are readily available on Ebay from $10.00 each up to $100 and some MIL Specs and even some from Russia......need to shop wisely and I do have my own tube tester to see if mine are any good...... Thanks for the tip Bruce
