Default First-aid box for U.C. ?

I've come across a quantity of ,"OUTFIT FIRST AID FOR TANKS AND ARMOURED CARS",and would like to know if this is the same kit as used in Universal Carriers.Does anyone know,or could someone post pics, of the one used,(perhaps someone might also know what items were contained in the kit). The dimentions of the box are; L-11 in. X W-8in. X H-2.75 in.

Default Full Of It

Cliff,

I saw a kit just like that on eBay a minute ago. Please review :
Aircraft or Armoured First aid kit,Complete Item number: 2189935761

I think this is what your box should contain.

Stewart

I will not be at Barrie as I am still in Maryland, and will be for at least another week.

Default NOT U.C.

This is Armoured Corps only, not for Universal Carriers. It was standard equipment on armoured cars and tanks. I have one with everything except the morphine ampules.

Default UC First Aid Tins

For some reason Carriers were not issued with First Aid Tins despite their being allocated to Armoured Units. Within the Carrier Section there would be one of the guys volunteered as being the medic and he would have a medical kit! Usually a First Aid Dressings bag, but anything that could carry bandages etc was used.

A small first aid tin marked as above could be the Dingo tin, they had them in a container on the outside of the armour! Fat lot of good that was when you skin your knuckles or knee caps when driving and need a plaster!!!
