Default Best German accent

My German neighbor's cat Arnie(no kidding-I know Arnold Scchwartinager or however you spell his name) has a habit of attacking our garbage. So,chasing him away,I broke into my best German englissh speaking accent which I copied from Malon Braando from a movie he did,and I can't remember the title. The other good accent I do remember is that of James Mason playing Rommel.
Does anyone else have a forvorite actor with the accent-oh yes,besdes Sgt.Schultz of Hogaan's Heros,"Isee nothing,I see nothing" ??

Peter Cushing as the Nazi liason officer onboard the Jap sub in the movie "1942". Between his very proper, rapid-fire, Feldwebel-dressing-down-a-Gefreiter guttural german and the Japs shouting, "HAW--REE--ROOD!" I nearly pissed myself.

Default Pardon the french

For quality accents, you just can't go past the series "'Allo 'Allo".

As did I - But not nearly as much as at the scene where the frustrated Japanese sailors, who couldn't get the big radio down the hatch, stopped and said - "We've got to make these things smaller"..

Default Best German accent

The best has to be John Wayne when he played a German sea Captain.
I cannot remember the name but it was sort of a cross between The Storm, Das Boot and the Onedin Line.
Made me smile anyway.

Cheers
Kevin

Ha Tony,

I was also thinking of that programme, the Gendarme who is actually English, one of his sayings was "I was just pissing by the dooor" when he came in the Cafe

Oh! and don't forget the episode where Basil Fawlty received a blow to the cranium from the Moose head hanging in the lobby, and then goes on to serve the German tourists in the dining room. That scene where he is goose-stepping around the room insulting the Germans with his best Hitler impersonation has to go down in history as one of the funniest moments in comedy!

Default How about...

...Peter Sellers in Dr. Strangelove... "Mein Fuhrer, I can walk!" not to mention some of his other accented roles... Pink Panther, and the wonderful Hrundi Backshee in The Party.

Here's the Strangelove script in case anyone is interested in saving precious bodily fluids.

Going off topic slightly, but Keith, I have to agree with you. Peter Sellers, in The Party, has got to be one of the funniest movies ever. I love impressions of East Indian people, actually doing quite a number myself. The first time I saw The Party I nearly pissed myself laughing and each time I've seen it there's always something new that I missed before. Birty Num Nums anyone???

I am thanking you gentleman for the post, it is beddy, beddy funny! I am having a canadian joke for you, you see. Here it is:

Question: "What are the first words an East Indian baby learns?"

Answer: "Attention K-Mart shoppers!"

Default The Party movie

The scene where they're about to blow up the fort and this is in 1870..Peter Sellers is a punjab soldier. The producer yells "Cut",looks over to Sellers and asks him what time it is>Sellers happily obliges and looks at his WRISTWATCH.Then as the director holds his hand up as a signal to push the dynamite plunger down,Sellers has to tie his boot and puts his foot on the plunger blowing up the fort. The look onthe director's face as he looks at his right arm to see if the'd dropped it as the signal which he didn't. I physically cried and the pains in my stomach-had to be the funniest scene I've ever seen.
