Default Boston, Massachusetts D-Day Remembrance

Recently our club was asked by the Chief of Interpretation at Boston National Historical Park Charlestown Navy Yard where Old Iron Sides USS Constitution is displayed, to provide WWII Vehicles as back drop for a 60th anniversary of D-Day. We were asked to dress in period uniforms if possible. The following pictures shows end of the convoy running along at 45mph on one of the busiest highways in Boston, (also the most expensive stretch of road in the world) next picture is one of the last surviving WWII LSTs left, line up of vehicles, next is the club changing room in front of the USS Constitution, next is my truck with LST in background, and last yours truly in front of CMP

Phil, would it be possible for me to have some interior pics please of your CMP. Also some basic measurements of the rear body (length, Width, height.) I just may do a model of one of these.

Thanks
Cliff

Only history is that I saw a picture of CMP in North Africa and decided to put one on the roof as the truck is sand color. I'll find the pictue and post it.

Thank you Phil. Now all I have to do is get info on the type of radios used by the Aussies and Canadians in them to do a full interior.

Although this was a S56 US signals box there is at least one other example of one fitted to a CMP in Australia of all places...

The Roundel was painted on the upper surfaces of vehicles in North Africa and Italy as an air recognition sign, being replaced by the Allied Star in June '44. It has nothing to do with the vehicle being in Air Force use. It was painted on Jeeps, Trucks, Trailers and Armoured Vehicles.
