Then we had the flying visit to Maxs that you saw on the Sergeants Mess. Finished up in the Mildura area and the rest of the images follow. Keefy, I tried to get as many plates as I could for your records.

Bob, that F15 is very interesting! S/M 2459 which was a 1941-2 contract. The Engine Number is a US one and not a Canadian one. Can you confirm the date of assembly please? Looked like AUG 28/42. Is is a 'VAN-5'???

GENERAL MOTORS OF CANADA
MADE IN GM CANADA OSHAWA WALKERVILLE REGINA MODEL 84-43X2; SERIAL.18544327372 ENGINE 3737619 BODY SERIAL TRIM XR PAINT F.C. 102 This is a mystery! Note the 'X2' for 'United Kingdom Built Up'. Also no Body Serial #. I am conjecting that this was one of the massive orders under S/M 2019 and then shipped direct to Egypt for assembly, as a chassis/cab. It was then issued to the AIF and sold, being brought over in due course. L 1304787 and L 1305132 were issued to the NZEF and AIF in Mid-East respectively and L 4624486 to the AIF and it is believed that these were in the same batch. |

Thanks for getting the plate info - that cab 12 is interesting...
I'll enter them into the database so we can all "compare and contrast".

The R112 type is interesting - rather than a WO number which was for army jobs, this denotes a RAAF order, although not sure what it was - R107 was the C60X refueller and R100 a C60L.

Interesting story behind the name of this vehicle that my mate Hugh told me, but you probably all know the story behind the name.

Bob I'm having trouble reading that one on a C60L with a crane... Lake Salvage on the roof...

This is the last one, again the Cab 12 from Cooma but with the data plate. I hope you all enjoyed my latest adventure.
Keefy, I have buckets of images for you for your site but I just have to find them, collate them and get them onto a CD. But what with building a house, tripping around the country and the rest of it I'm busier than a one armed paper hanger. I'll get there. 4th glass of red and snacks and now time to read the other forums. Hooroo. Salesman Bob |

Thats the best I can do. It was very glary and the truck was hard to get into so I had to approximate my aim with the camera. I take it you haven't been to this location. I can give you details off line and discuss the owner. There were more but I ran out of time. Bob |
