Default Universal Carrier Mk2 25821C

Hi and Thanks for the add
This is my newest acquisition a 1944 Mk2 Universal Carrier, what’s left of one anyways.

There’s still tones of parts to dig out of the barn for it. It was pulled out with intentions to fix it 40 plus years ago and just sat there till I purchased it.

I know next to nothing on these but I plan to learn as much as I can about it in the next couple years.

I own a welding/fabrication shop so this restoration is right up my alley.

Any info or insight on this little piece of history is welcomed.

I’m located in Ontario Canada.

I had linked photos on the original post but it didn’t work. I’ll figure this forum stuff sooner than later.

Here’s pictures. (Hopefully)

Welcome to the carrier family Seb

Mine is either a 1943 or a 44 Mk2 (all the parts on it are dated 43)

Welcome aboard Seb. It looks like you have some (non voting) support on your team?
Is your number certain or is it missing a digit?

That is my hull number.
It’s the only identifiable number I have available.

Default Your carrier is well-worth restoring

Congratulations, and my condolences. You have been bitten by the green disease!

Very recently, Allan Dornan who lives near Montreal, bought a partially restored carrier in an auction. He has done amazing work and made great progress putting the plates back together and making it run. If you find Al, he will be very happy to share his experience.

You’re very right.
I got a 1942 Willys MB CDLV-505 as well and several dozen Lee Enfields from different wars and manufacturers.
It’s a deep hole that I’m free falling into. Hahahah

I’ll definitely try to find this Al you speak of.
Thanks.
