Where on the C15TA is any stamped chassis or part number or serial number? No original data plates remain. I checked under the chassis rail at the front, passenger side. Looks like a repair steel strip welded to the frame where I thought a stamp might be but if so, it is covered now. If it is on the chassis, where? Top of the frame? Outside? Inside? Bottom? On a brace part? Pics would be great. but any guide would be greatly appreciated!!!! |

To the best of my knowledge, Canadian produced Chevrolet CMPs did not have serial numbers stamped on the frames as normal practice. Based on MLU postings it seems that some/most Australian assembled Chevrolet CMPs did have stamped serial numbers. I also believe most/all Ford CMPs had stamped serials on the frame.

I will be perfectly happy to be corrected on any of my comments if I'm putting up incorrect information. I am less sure about the armoured CMPs, is it possible that with their smaller production numbers the serial might have been stamped to the armoured body? This is only a guess - I hope owners of armoured CMPs will be able to say yes or no. |
