			If the colour rendering is red/black/red, then it had something to do with First Canadian Army. Sweetheart pin, perhaps.

			I like John's identification, but wonder why a Canadian would need to identify himself as an English speaker.  Wouldn't it make more sense for a Dutch person to have this little pin as a way of identifying themselves as an English speaker.  It would save a whole lot of embarrassment and confusion.

			I recall reading somewhere a number of Dutch Military personnel, and perhaps a few civilians were attached to various Canadian Military units as translaters.  Maybe some photos survive somewhere of these individuals wearing these pins. David |
