Default MCP 1940 Chev

Hello MLU people,

Can anyone let me know whether the Australian Army installed brush bars to their MCP truck as standard like they did to the CMP vehicles?

Did the vertical arms of the brush bar fit via the standard bumper bar mounting brackets? Or did they replace the whole bumper bar and fit a stronger version than civilian one and add the brush bar to it?

The authors of the "Our LRDG Chev show the brush bar on one of their reference photographs http://www.mapleleafup.net/forums/at...7&d=1378328869. The Our LRDG Chev thread also raises the question as to whether my vehicle should be fitted with "D" shackles on the front bumper as well as a brush bar?

Apart from the Jerry Can holders that have been fabricated to the bumper bar there are no additional bolt holes where a brush bar may have been fitted to it.

Also though not original to the truck can anyone identify the approximate year of production for the Lucas driving light that a previous owner fitted to the truck? Wiring courtesy of Bodgey Brothers Inc = rough as guts!

Kind Regards
Lionel
