Default Stowage box stencil font/type/colour???

I am after some period pics or pics of peoples stencilling on their stowage boxes, particularly the stencils for the ''Box Iron Rations'' and ''Box Cooking Utensils''.
This is too suit the Australian BGC.

Prefer the pics to be before restoration, but also good to see how people have done them today.

Making these stencils is one of the many things I need to do soon.

Appreciated if people could post information in this thread,

Thanks

Hi Darrin. Not sure if this picture is of any use to you. If you would like me to email it to you in a larger format please don't hesitate to ask. Any good signwriting shop etc should be able to work out the font for you.
Regards, Nathan

Well, there's a variation already, between the manual/handbook in D's post, and Nathan's nice surviving originals (which, because they are painted white, equipped an enclosed vehicle like a tank, or Dingo Scout Car).

Makes sense to drop the word 'box' (it is pretty obviously a box!) and do the stencil in a single line.

Just to check, are the stencilled letters 7/8" high?

Darrin, happy to work on stencils with you. I had a plan to have my work sign man cut some stencils in the next couple of weeks. Also plan the do hull number the same way.
