Hallo Barry Read,

Just before the big happenings, not much time for the several
forums. Vehicle maintenance, that's important this moment !!!
OK one picture, today a test-drive of our Ford Lynx I.
The Lynx II is the nice one of the Dutch Cavalry Museum in Amersfoort,
perfect restored by Andries Kelder and his crew.
The Lynx I is restored by LwD, Steven and Dirk. An exciting day
for us, the latest heavy test before D-Day.
Many thanks for your hospitality Andries.

Met een vriendelijke groet, Dirk Leegwater

Brian Gough and I will be going to Holland and then on to Normandy with Dirk and Stefan. I suppose we will have to bounce around Normandy in the above pictured Lynx and Stefan's C15TA. Apparently Dirk is also taking bicycles: and Stefan and I will be sleeping in a tent while Dirk and Brian have a cabin. I don't know if the old body will be able to stand up to these rigours.

Default Missing the beaches!

Hi Barry
Missing the beaches this Juno I'm afraid! Was going to take Dingo over but no armour allowed but as things have turned out couldn't have made it anyhow. But am going over to Arnhem in September with it. Newcastle to Ijmuiden and drive to Arnhem.

Beltring is doubtful too.

Next year I'm planning a tour of the main shows down south and continent with my new transporter and carrier so am planning that and enlisting my bank manager as my commander!! The amount of shows I can do depends on secure "park-up" facilities between shows. So carrier will be receiving an overhaul and ticky up a wee bit.

What about you?

NIgel

Geoff, as far as I know Dirk, Stefan, Barry & Brian will be staying with Keep Them Rolling at the camping “Le Champ de Course” at Courseulles-sur-Mer, which is 31 kms from Colleville-sur-mer.
For your interest, on 4 June Keep Them Rolling members will put their vehicles at the disposal of Canadian veterans for a ride along Juno Beach. This will be done in collaboration with the Belgian clubs “Je Me Souviens” and “B.M.V.T.”.

As for me, I'm still trying to hitch a ride....

Default Dutch Events

Hanno is right on the money. We will indeed be at Courseulles-sur -Mer. Too bad we will not be seeing Nigel. Maybe next year at Beltring. Interesting Nigel travels with his banker as does Dirk.
I think that DB, Dirks banker will be going to Normandy. I will prevail upon Janet to type in below the Dutch itinerary. NOTICE the flea market. You all know how the Dutch do things so it should be a " do not miss event".

Default D-Day 60+

Well I must be the luckest carrier owner.
Tommorrow I'm off to Normandy with my carrier.

The carrier's travelling by road to Portsmouth in the south of England, from there we sail to France on a landing craft. Landing on the Normandy beaches in front of the VIP's on Sunday at Aroumanche.

I will be taking part in a display with a Churchill, a Sherman and a Dingo.
Anybody in the area come up and say hello!

I promise to take lots of photos from the carrier when we exit the LC.
Regards

Barry

Barry, not only the luckiest carrier owner, but the luckiest MLU forum member because I'm sure you're the only one with a front row seat. The rest of us will be kept back a couple of miles behind the beaches to make sure the dignitaries are safe.
Take lots of pictures!

Cheers,
Hanno
