Hi
I'm new to this so please bare with me. I recently purchased an iltis and was wondering if it is possible to find out about it 's military history, I purchased it in Saint John so I think it came from CFB Gagetown. Is there a DND site that would have the vehicle's military history. Thanks in advance John |

Thank you very much for the Iltis info, it is interesting to see where all they were used. All three units are being well cared for and preserved. 87121 has had a body rebuild with a NOS floor section, side centre panels and new tarp. 86879 has had a complete disassembly and rebuild with NOS parts and a NOS body and painted with epoxy Galv-Alum 595-34094 paint. I know that the Iltis has had a very checkered history and been vilified on this forum, but of all the MV's I have the Iltis is the most fun and easiest to drive. Gord |

I wonder if 87121 had been in an accident which meant it was disposed of about 10 years before the rest of the fleet.

I don't think the Iltis was damaged. It was registered to the first owner and second owner on the same day, 97/12/08, third owner 99/10/19, forth owner 03/08/08, fifth owner05/07/04, then bought by the sixth owner after another couple of years. The body was in deplorable condition, but did not show signs of body damage repair. I wonder if it was written off as uneconomical repair and was shuffled from owner to owner as a rebuild project? I got the Iltis with all the NOS body panels for the rebuild and the owner got an Iltis ready to safety from me. He had intended to restore it, but had no time or place to work on it and I did. With the NOS parts, especially the floor section, it makes a almost rust free body and is far more sound than patching in new steel bits here and there. Gord |

Thank you for the info. Does PEIR stand for Prince Edward Island reserve? Didn't know they had a reserve unit in summerside. Maybe that's why it had such low milage on it. 60k I thought for sure it came from CFB OROMOCTO. Once again thanks for the info |
