Default Semi new member

Hello all,

Not quite a new member, but till now only a reader.
My name is Sjoerd van de Wal and am living in Hoogland, a village near Amersfoort in the Middle of the Netherlands.

As long a i can remember i have an strong interest in WW2 and pre 1945 technical stuff.
I am the proud owner of a 1936 Wehrmacht DKW SB200 Motorbike which i am restoring at the moment and a 1936 DKW RT98 which was used by the Dutch military in may 1940 for despatch riding.

This year (or next) i am hoping to fulfill one of my biggest wishes, to add a Ford CMP truck to my collection so i am oriëntating myself at this moment on mainly the Ford F8 or F15.
First i want to get some specific knowledge about these trucks before buying one, we'll just see.

Kind regards,

Sjoerd van de Wal

Hi Sjoerd, welcome to MLU as a semi-new member! Sounds like a nice pair of motorcycles you have, any photos to post? Good luck in your search for a Ford CMP, an excellent choice! Cheers, Tony

Thank you for the welcome.

I know i can find a lot of information on this forum which i will going to need in the future.

My plan is to get information first and then going to look for a fairly restored example which allready is road legal. My wife told me that i may not buy another total restoration object. Part restoration is fine, as long as we can enjoy driving it.

Attached 2 pictures of my bikes, not commonwealth but still very nice.

DKW SB200 1936 Wehrmacht, with approval stamp of the Reichswehr and a DKW RT98 2.5 PS 1936.

Rgds.
