I assume picture 811 is of a converted Scammell Artillery Tractor with a post-war army ballast body for towing trailers?

There were two of these at the show including this one for sale.
It was advertised as a tank transporter but from memory they were used for carrying RE equipment.

Excellent pics, Dennis, thanks!

Looks like a great show with a good mix of military vehicles.

Default At last - I truck I worked on gets to a show....

I helped Hamish change the engine in that Bedford X-Ray truck (0790) and re-sheet the back body.

Pity we don't know who the owner is - wonder if he knows it has been to India and back?

The T16 carrier is owned by a friend of mine, its the first outing for it since he began restoring it.

It nice to see it going around the parade ring flat out.

Picture 811 was in fact originally a Scammell Pioneer Tank-Transporter, many were converted to ballast tractors to tow the heavier Rogers/Dyson range of trailers, the Scammell trailers becoming rather obsolete. I drove it around the arena as my brother used to own it until quite recently.
