When fitting the side fuel tanks on the supports of a C15A, what is used to stop metal to metal contact, rubber, canvas or felt?
Were the straps covered in canvas as were the later Inter/Accos? Thanks. Wayne. |

Hi Wayne,
All of the tank straps on CMP's over here in England, have a strip of canvas running round the tank, approx 1 1/4" wide. The ends of the canvas normally meet underneath the tank. I've never come across rubber or felt being used, or straps covered in canvas. The only felt I've come across near the tank, is a felt washer/grommet which is in a hole in the chassis which the fuel pipe runs though Hope this helps, Keith |
