216 Chev crankcase vent system

I am completing the restoration of a 216 chev for a 1943 HUP and am puzzled about where the crankcase line from the side filler tube went to recieve vacuum. The intake only had a small port for the wipers and my NOS air cleaner has no ports. Thanks all.
