Default 65th anniversary of the battle of Dieppe

Hello All,

Here are some pictures of the parade and the ceremony of remembrance of the 65th anniversary of the battle of Dieppe which took place to Longueuil on south of Montreal. Everything was very well and the beautiful temperature was with us. We were fifteen WWII vehicles and it's a record of all time for this type of demonstrations in Quebec. Our vehicles behaved marvelously without any mechanical problems and the veterans really appreciated to walk in these old always loyal and reliable jeeps.

We also made very beautiful meetings and we discussed a lot with the WWII veterans. The parade, the colourful servicemen, the music, the ceremomie, the cocktail, everything was very well. This evening, in the bulletin of the news of Radio-Canada, we were able to see a broadcast report on the remembrances which took place in Dieppe and we were able to see the parade in which Maurice Robens with other Belgian and French friends of the group of the Companions of the Allies Souvenirs had embarked Canadian veterans on their WWII vehicles.

Cheers from Trois-Rivieres

Hi Guy
Thanks for the photos of your parade. It's nice to see these events for the veterans. Did you get to France this year and are you planning for 2009?
Cheers,
Barry

Hi Barry,

It's nice to read you. No, I'm not gone in France this year, maybe at Bastogne in next December. In june 2009, It's sure that I will be in Normandy for the 65th anniversary of D-Day. Do you expect to be there also? It would be nice to take a drink at Bernières-sur-Mer together.

Cheers from Trois-Rivieres

Hello All,

I join this internet link to have access to a report which was realized by David Common on CBC news in Dieppe during the ceremonies of remembrance of 65th anniversary of the battle of Dieppe. You can see our French and Belgian friends who possess HMVs to transport the WWII veterans who were there.
