(thanks Shane mate) says it all in one paragraph (Para 4.). It was as mentioned before, in 1941 when the London and Canberra Governments agreed a financial arrangement to pay for the supplied vehicles that were landed/assembled in N Africa and then issued to the A.I.F. The same must have applied to the N.Z.E.F., but not necessarily the Indian Army as if they were finances ad per pre-war, this was by the War Office direct. |
