Korean War 101?

Hi People,

Well, I'd like to learn something about the Korean War (like why it happened to begin with), and am hoping that you folks can help me out. I just don't know anything about it, and would like to know something of why it happened and what part our Canadian Soldiers played in it, and why.

I realize this is an open-ended query and not about WW2, but I do know that many soldiers who experienced WW2 also went on to be part of the Korean War.

Yes, I could search online and source out info there, but I most want to hear what MLU-ers have to tell ...
