1. Roundel instead of star for air recognition. Including painted on inside of hatch to be more effective when open.
2. Spare tire holder empty. 3. Looks freshly painted. 4. No census number seen on the door (or elsewhere), but other markings in place. |

Agree with all of Grant,s observations, he only missed that it is an F15(or could be an F15 A). Love the roundal on the open hatch.

Indeed, it looks freshly painted or cleaned up and given an oily rag treatment. The spare wheel was not refitted after the cleanup.
What I find remarkable is that the roundel for air recognition survived the preparations for one of the first post-war parades. Maybe these troops were proud of what they had done in Italy? Or just could not be bothered to change it, after all the war was over ...
