| Make your own matt paint

Years ago, I had most of the early copies of ARMY MOTORS the mag of the MVCC or whatever the U.S. military vehicle club was called back then. In a certain edition , a guy had written a good article on making your own matt paint . Basically, he used silica powder as the matting agent , the same silica that hobby potters use . Most hobby pottery supplies sell silica powder in bags. You mix the silica into enamel paint with a paddle in a power drill .
