Default local gun show outing

Had the carrier out today, thought I would make it home without getting wet but ended up driving thru pouring rain......

Default carrier

Love all the kit on it, looks awesome.
.30 cal too is unusual to my eyes. Was this done to many kiwi carriers?

Default Italy carriers

Hi Ryan, .30 - .50 cals were pretty common from photos I have found of carriers in use by NZ Div Cav, especially in Italy. Although my carrier is LP2A and never left NZ I am attempting to replicate one of these photos from Italy

Hi lew,
Accessorizing is the most fun part I believe. Carrier once again looks great. One with a .50 cal would be something to see.
Is that a camoflaged blitz in the background too?

Default Nice one Lew,

I've got a Vickers replica now for the LP2, so we will make a pair for Wings over Wairarapa!

Default vickers

cheers Rob, here are a couple of photos from a few months back, got the Vickers away being fitted for gas firing. We could both go Vickers equipped to Masterton. I have heard there's someone we both know in the deepest south making a Vickers/30 cal also..... just need Alex to get a wriggle on and then there would be 3 of us.

Default That's the aim, Lew.

We want plenty of variety, and vehicles accessorised in realistic settings.
The WW1 trench display is designed, and a digger requested for a half day - Hood aerodrome is built on an old flood plain - so the ground is full of goolies too big to shovel by hand! Masterton won't be the same again!

Alex and some young guns were here over the long weekend and we got the motor and rear axle fitted to the second LP2. The first LP2 got new brake linings and machined drums fitted on Saturday, so it is now turning as it should. And my UC1* hull has gone in to the sandblaster. 3 carriers on a trailer will look the part heading south in January!
