Well, thanks, JD.

Not being much of an Xmas type guy, your sentiments are appreciated.

Still stuck in bull low, four wheel drive?

Well ... I'll be darned. I got in to actually POST!!!!! Have been trying all day to reply to some posts but it hasn't worked for me ... until now!!!!!!!! I'm using someone elses computer that has two different browsers going on it and that MAY be the problem :

Your Merry Christmas must have worked for me JD ,,, thank you so much for the Merry Ho-Ho's and wishes for a safe {and sober } New Year. Little Miss MA is pretty happy to have a very different scene this X-mas and 2005 should unfold many a new experience ... all good to go My youngest daughter Elysia (21 til Feb) will be here. We saw each other last ... last Christmas so one of my favorite and best gifts (tho certainly not the ONLY one, for several amazing positive gifts of varying types have kinda-sorta blessed my life) will be to lay eyes and a huge long hug on her

All the best to YOU and YOURS as well ... for both Christmas AND 2005. May your Master Arthur Itis begone from doze ole bones

Karmen

PS: MARKO and OTHER OLD FARTS ... you KNOW where I'm headed right now, don't you. Ye think the wee bittie Little Miss Ma did NOT notice yore activities of late? Well ... some of you will get to meet my frying pan after all ... SOONER than you may think. So watch yore old heinies )

Jon,

Still stuck in four wheel drive:
sung to 'Dashing through the Snow':
Here we go,
In Bull Low,
Stuck in four wheel drive,
Swamp aboders on my tail,
I don't know how to drive,
But we don't care,
'Cause we don't scare,
Especially when we're drunk,
We don't fear the two towed sloth,
Nor the creature from the swamp!

Hear us laugh and sing,
For we have made a goof,
We drove into the lake to find,
Our truck's not water proof,
When you hear those engines roar,
You know that Sigs is here,
But when you hear the burps and farts,
The linecrew's got the beer.

Now Betsy she's our truck,
She runs real good on liquer,
And when she starts to buck and bump,
She's love sick for the wrecker,
Now you may have your doubts,
That Betsy guzzles juice,
So how do you explain the fact,
Winington-ball has raped the duce??

Happy holidays.

"Line crew indeed!"

052 will do you.

How about:
Roll me over, signal soldier,
Roll me over, lay me down & do it again....

Or

I've been workin' with the line crew,
All the live long day,
I've been layin' lots o' cable,
Just to pass the time o' day,
Can't you hear the Sgt. yelling,
Burr Head climb that pole,
Can't you hear the Sgt. ye-elling;
The strand chair is your goal..
Etc
(to Dina)
OR
(12 days of...)
On the first day of MilCon the CO gave to me,
A warning that I shouldn't get drunk...
On the second day of MilCon, the CO gave to me,
Two line trucks and a warning that I shouldn't get drunk,

Three reels of cable and a warning that I shouldn't get drunk,

Four crook sticks....

Five! kegs! of beer!, and a warning that I shouldn't get drunk,

Six Warrants wishing...

Seven Looies leaping...

Eight Captains cringing....

With nine Generals Gawking...

Over ten switch board operators...

Eleven Linemen drooling...

Twelve charge reports for...

.... AND A WARNING THAT I SHOULDN'T GET DRUNK!

Well Jon, that's some of my carols at this time of year! Enjoy.

Ho, Ho, Ho Greetings, indeed.

MOC 052...independent movement, due to operational requirements, meant doing a recce for the nearest beer store...then grabbing a RadOp to send, in clear, certain codewords (cobbled together previously from bastardized CANFOROPS CODE or CANFORNAGEN) so that the rest of the MilCon guys could "suck back and re-load".

Default All the best from Toronto...

Christmas fast approaches, although given the frustrations of the last moving week, it doesn't seem like it

Anyway... I would like to pass the best of the season on to you, my friends around the world, from both Ma Yappy and myself, from our snow-dusted rooftop apartment in the east end of Old Toronto. Our hearts are with all of you.

Now, would you Aussies PULLEEEASE send us some of your summer?!

Default Heh heh heh heh

Thursday/Friday
Tonight and Friday Fine tonight. Mostly fine tomorrow with just the chance of a shower or two. Moderate north to northwesterly wind shifting moderate to locally fresh south to southwesterly wind during the early morning.
Current Temperature: 35 C
Forecast Max: 22C
Wind Direction & Speed: W at 1 knot
Humidity: 18%
Pressure: 1002.1 hPa

Well, it's a little cooler, I'd say high 20s, 8.27 PM in Melbourne and I'm sitting on the deck with the Powerbook, wireless of course in shorts, sandals and my TORONTO Canada T-shirt enjoying a glass of chilled white wine. Just off to the left is my trusty CMP, Christmas Eve tomorrow, wonderful.
The birds are settling in the trees, I can hear noisy mynahs and the occasional Kookaburra.
If I could bothered getting my camera out I could take a relaxed self-portrait with a S.E.G.
This is the lucky country. Does life get any better? Possibly, but this is pretty good.
Stay warm, Canucks and at least vicariously enjoy our weather.

Only if you can send an esky full of snow to put our beer into!

An old Aussie Infantry Christmas carol (part, thereof):
To the tune of "Oh! Christmas tree!"

"We like it here, we like it here,
F***in' oath,
we like it here!
And even thoooooooooough we have malaria,
We still patrol the F***in' area,
We like it here, we like it here,
F***in' oath, we like it here!"

Merry Christmas to all Canucks, Poms, Yanks, Dutchies and Swedes (Mates every last one of you). We will celebrate Xmas hours before you, but 2 hours behind the Kiwis! Special Xmas greetings to Mexicans, Banana Benders, Sandgropers and Crow Eaters! (You know who you are!)
