Default trip around the world in a Dodge Ambulance

Two guys from Norway are planning to embark on a trip around the world in a WW2 Dodge WC54 Ambulance - see http://www.dodgetrip.com/.

Great, eh?

What a fabulous idea! I'm going to monitor their progress and hopefully convoy with them for the portion of their trip through Texas, I see they're crossing into Mexico at El Paso. I'm going to contact the M.V.P.A. and see if this is something they want to support with either money or escorts.

I think they need to be apprised of the general lawlessness of northern Mexico and the drug war that is currently being fought between rival gangs and the D.E.A. in the northern border towns. People, civilians too, are disappearing every day as the Federales are quickly losing what little control they had. A couple of wealthy gringos in a WW II Dodge would stick out like a sore thumb and would be a prime target. They would be wiser by far to keep heading south in Texas and cross into Mexico at Harlingen.
Also, they might want to time their arrival for any season other than summer. Can you imagine driving a 1942 Dodge through Arizona or Texas in 110 deg. temperature!!! Ay caramba!

Why do you think I'm planning to meet them at the Texas border with my C15?
