Default Morris advert from 1949

Found on the TROVE website , searching the old newspapers . Maybe a used car dealer as there are similar adverts with the same contact details.

/ Queensland Times (Ipswich, Qld. : 1909 - 1954)

Default More

Reading the wartime newspapers on the Trove site, I have seen the colloquial term "Blitz buggy' used to describe military vehicles. I have found more Morris CS8 truck adverts..... in post-war Australian newspapers . The 4X4 advert would likely be one of the refugee Morris C8/AT Portees.

I have not been able to find any reference to how these CS8 trucks were landed in Australia, the likely scenario was refugee cargo - unfortunately there isn't any listings in the AWM 126 ledgers for Morris CS8 trucks. There is a single 6x4 Morris CD listed.

Default 900-13 Morris wheels

Advert from Hughes Auto Spares: this big disposals business was still trading from Coburg into the 1980s.

I spotted the 900-13 rims for 'Morris Blitz' for 3 pounds each.. ( these rims have Land Rover stud pattern ) and they fit the Morris PU 8 cwt and Bofors gun carriage. Hmm not sure if they would fit Ford as the advert states.

https://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/a...%20blitz%20%22

This 1952 clearing sale includes a 'Morris Blitz' this vehicle is possibly the Morris PU 8 cwt wreck I bought up past Deniliquin some years back... I was slow getting around to picking it up and it has vanished.. the seller resold it.
