Default 216 chev motor C60 Buyer beware!!!!!!

Hi Folks. This motor was working in a C60 on a farm as a crop spraying tanker.
I brought it to get the transfer case & front end. I was not interested in the motor as it is not of the year I required & had some damage (repaired ) to the block. but was told that it was running, but needed a tune up. I decided to take off & keep the head. I had the rocker cover, rocker gear & side plate off & as I started to take out the push rods, I was mentally counting them off (force of habit). I found I had them all out & only had ten. Started looking for the missing ones & found that there was only ten & ten cam followers.
The damage to the block & bell housing (welded up) was obviously from a con rod going through it. The remains of the rod & piston etc. had been removed & the motor went on running as a five cylinder. The not functioning bore is easy to pick. The other working bores are fine. The rust in the bore seems to be from condensation.
That would have been a good tune up. I do not know whether to admire their inventiveness mechanically or their deceptiveness sales wise.

Ken Thomas.

That was the high(er) efficiency model. It burn's 17% less fuel and oil (albeit it still leaks just as much as any chev) and is several pounds lighter.

If they had managed to cap the bottom of the cylinder, it would have been perfect for import/export of your favorite goods through customs.
