Mark 2 carrier starter

I have been working on restoring my mk 2 an have been wandering what i do about my starting delema. Im not sure if i should go starting selenoid since i have only got a regular starter, would that a normal battle field conversion. I think the mk 1 had a starter button or should i be looking for a mk2 starter. Someone please help me make up my mind lol its driving me crazy
