There was a big issue on those seals in recent years. The US made ones were to a tighter spec than a lot of the military engines, resulting in a lot of heat to the point of seizing the rear main bearings.
Options are to look for pre 1990s manufacture seals. I know one dealer in the US has NOS seals for these engines.
As well, in talking with John Bizal last fall, he mentioned he was having new seals made up to proper military specs. I went with the MD Juan rear seal, and sure enough, it leaked.
If you are working on a CJ though, you should be fine with the Victor or Fel-pro seals. Go with the 2 piece neoprene style, rather than the rope. It will save you having to pull the engine and removing the crank.
