Not sure if it is that rare. I bought the spare tube case for a reasonable price, (Shipping was more) a couple of months ago. I think you got 2 more tubes (valves) than me.

I have seen a few more on ebay since then. Right now someone in Italy is offering one for $100US!!!

I was suprised to see your "No 19" spare parts box! I just bought a spare parts box too! I bought mine with intention of picking up a W.S. No 19 radio in the future for my MkI carrier. It turned out that a fellow worker had one he was going to throw out. So now I have a radio and variometer to go with my parts!

The moral of the story... talk to every one about your hobby you never know where you will get leads. I just talked to and older gent in town and had 5 radio sets a few years ago and gave them all away to 2 people in town. He is putting me in touch with them this weekend!

I also picked up a canadian Field telephone and have hooked it up to a wire to the house and connected it to an old crank wallphone in the kitchen as an intercom for the wife. (You should see the look on peoples faces when the old phone rings!)

Rare or not they are cool...and practicle too....if you work at it!
