Sorry about the thread hijack

Thanks for your offer of assistance. The reg. certificate shows the chassis nr. The grey colour was applied by Lanes Motors, the Morris dealership in Melbourne. There is a faded unit sign with 3 digits.

The AWM126 is not a complete list of all the army vehicles, it is a great resource but for various reasons unknown to me there are vehicles missing that should have been included.

Looking through the unit war diaries I have found a small number of Morris 8 cwt trucks on issue to certain units in the Middle East but of course , no chassis or engine numbers are given.

The first Morris PU I recovered does have a bonnet number 0 36?0. AWM pics do indicate this five digit numbering sequence was used on many of the British W.D. type vehicles (including M/cycles) that were issued/loaned to the AIF units that were stationed in Palestine.
