http://www.electrodynamicsolutions.com/ have taken over the (DVR3-4) car side of the business from "Dynamo Regulators" Who's DVR2 type for motorcycles I've used for many years and the only type that I will recommend.
It's probable that you can hide one somewhere or inside your original regulator without gutting it. Ron
