The AWA AMR-100 and 101 were communications HF receivers , not VHF Talk Between Ships or ship to ship radio sets ( TBS ) as the author claims. Makes you wonder what else he got wrong .
Reading the text, the author also claims that the Bathurst class ships only had CW radio equipment fitted ( no voice or R.T. ) until late in WW2... seems unlikely to me. Most if not all HF radio sets of that time had both CW and RT forms of transmission as standard .
