There are a couple of variations (at least) to this setup:
WS19 secured to the carrier by a very long strap that hooked into the keyhole slots in the left hand side of the supply unit, passed under the carrier, up the other side, across the top of the WS19 snd then the adjustable plate locked into keyhole slots in an adapter plate (needed to reverse the direction of the slots in the supply unit top surface) on the supply unit.
Either a top mounting plate carrying the variometer, and Aerial Base No.10, and control unit (usually No.2) could be fitted to the top of the set, or the RF Amplifier No.2 (with a couple of "Blocks, Packing" to clear the case rims) and the top plate with Aerial Tuning Inductance No.1 and a Condenser X5 5kV in place of the variometer. This cave a rapidly demountable vehicle station (albeit a rather top heavy one with a tendency to turn turtle while being moved.
There were also various later "top plates" that fitted over the set and supply unit, and were designed to carry the RF Amplifier and Aerial Tuning Inductance, the RF Amplifier and Aerial Coupling Unit 'J', or one of the AFV infantry communication sets (WS38, 88 or 31 AFV variants and the associated supply unit and LF amplifier).
There's a "Carriers, Set, Various" publication from the 1950s that contains oblique (unfortunately, rather than engineering) drawings of a large number of set carriers - with no clue as to what they were intended for. (There are stacked WS19 or WS19HP carriers, and all sorts in there!)
I want a No.40, which takes the Wireless Set No.62, for vehicle, trailer or animal transport.
I have the other carriers for the batteries, charging set, et cetera, just not the set one.
(I wish to state that I have no intention of getting a pack saddle and mule for mobile operation.)
