I believe the boot is a Ford 91T-2180-A. It stands to reason that the boot is a Ford part. (everything that could be was Ford supplied)
That said, I don't have any documented evidence.
I do not have one of these carriers, but I suspect that with everything as it should be (no undue travel in brakes) that this boot works.
Having said that, It may be that it was however marginal,(maybe it was about rubber shortage?) because the revised parts book (Aug 43) it says that current production did not use them although they were available through the parts system. The later boot was leather. I don't recall seeing one.
