Coincidentally enough I was leafing through my copy of The Encyclopaedia of Weapons of WW II by Chris Bishop and had just finished reading the chapter on flame throwers when I came upon this thread. The Encyclopaedia shows the same pic as Mark Tonner's 2nd picture on that link he directed you to, however, the data for the Flamethrower, Portable, No.2 MkII is much different than that posted by Mark. In the encyclopaedia it states that the No.2 MkII flame was ignited by a battery, not a .303 cartridge and that the weight was 64lbs. with a total duration of fire of 10 seconds. There was a smaller version produced after the war was over called the Ack-Pack which had a weight of 48lbs. Perhaps this is the one Mark is refering to. Hope this info helps.
