It's not a '48 engine, it's a '49-54 8BA and it does not have the integral bellhousing on the back of the block. You will need to find a cast steel bellhousing (the
cast one fits an 11" clutch, the
stamped steel will only clear a 9" clutch), and a pair of waterpumps from a '49-'53 pick-up which have the correct mounting feet for the earlier chassis (which I see you've already got). The Dizzy won't be a clearance issue.
