As I understand it, the timber boxes for 25-pdr projectiles were mainly wartime expedients to overcome a shortage of sheet steel, or rather, to leave sheet steel for other higher priority purposes. I'm not sure there is an direct equivalent as such, only the more common P59 sheet steel box, which I think an example, end-on view, is visible in the middle of your image. Of course, I have no idea what the situation was in your part of the world, or where the govt of Argentina was getting supplies from, so my replies are guesswork.
