From memory, they used a pump called the 'Auto Pulse' in Ford CMPs , usually for hotter climates where fuel vaporizing was a problem. I don't know of a modern equivalent of the Auto Pulse. I used to see old 'Auto Pulse' pumps at swap meets, usually 6V , but haven't seen one for years, the diaphragms in these old pumps would be U/S I would think

You can buy a modern electronic low pressure SU style pump , these are suitable for older cars i.e. series 1 Land Rovers, these pumps are made in New Zealand and I have read reports of some bad issues with them, these are 12V pumps but looking at their web site, they also have 6V pumps.
