You may not relate to this... I remember (that bit, Bob) some aspects of map reading, during my basic training, quite well.
When giving a grid reference, to remember which way around it went (latitude and longitude) The lesson from Sgt. "Skin" Hornbrooke was; " You have to put it across her, before you put it up her"
Bob, be careful your gov'mint doesn't start taxing you each time your compass swings to point to magnetic north.
