Default In the presence of a passionate restorer

Over the weekend I had the opportunity to visit the farm buildings of a collecter and restorer who collection kept getting better! Clive, Bob and some of the other barn "cats" know where I mean. This is a serious shop with one surprise after another. The restored ones are in one place with the under-restoration ones. The armour is in another. The 25pdr somewhere else. The runners in another. And the projects in a sixth! My M38A1 parts were just ordinary stock in trade compared to the real treasures.

I'd sent Andre a long list of M38A1 parts. I knew him from a show and a previous phone call. I used my best French, but he politely switched to English as the better language between us. He had laid out my parts on a table beside his M37 project chassis. After emptying my wallet of cash and writing a cheque for a pile of necessary parts, he asked if I'd like to see some tires he had. Drool!!!! He underpriced two nice Jeep tires, so I made myself pay another $50 to keep it a fair deal.

Andre's next project was outside on the dually trailer. Anyone got spare C15TA parts? Anyone?

If anyone needs an M38A1 rolling chassis, get in touch with me. I'll give you Andre's contact info. He is not an internet addict.

If anyone wants a surplus-sale stock 1967 M38A1, always wintered indoors, not driven on the road, owned by one man, just for toodling around his country property, and in damn fine condition (a good MVPA category!), but not at Andre's, let me know. I just happened to spot this runner while on a side trip to the Eccles Hill monument. It is also for sale.
