He being Post #11 of this thread, no need to refer to “he” in any other person but himself. Bucky the Wonder Carrier survived too. Not just that wee trial, but years of post-war use in capable hands.

The hard landing may not be as hard as one suspects, looking at the driver head movement at the critical moment. As for the rear mudguard extensions, would the bottom edge of the vertical differential cover have caught before the extensions?

The mudguard extensions on the MK-II* are exceptionally heavy gauge. I would expect the cars to come in second had there been any contact.
