Great pictures, Sean. Apart from the Minnitonka Boat Works in Wayzota, Minnesota, these types of boats were built by the
Century Boat Company, Manistee, Michigan. From what I've read and seen until now, the design of the American Storm Boats used a "plastic bonded plywood" construction. Although the use of resins is common practice today, 60 years ago this was quite novel and resulted in a light yet rugged boat, a much better design than the British/Canadian canvas/wood folding boat.
