Hello Kevin. I'm not an expert on such things but perhaps I can narrow down the search for you. I recently completed Ken Ford's "JUNO BEACH" which is part of the Battle Zone Normandy series of books. On pages 36 and 37 he lists the Naval Craft which comprised Force J. Further, he has broken the list down to the individual Infantry Brigades, their ships and how many LCAs (LANDING CRAFT ASSAULT) were on each . Here is the list for the 7th Cdn. Inf. Bde.:

Headquarters: Lepe House, Exbury Capt. A.F. Pugsley

Assault group HQ Ship: HMS Lawford

LANDING SHIP INFANTRY (LARGE)---LSI(L)
MV Llangibby Castle 557th Assault Flotilla: 18-LCA

LANDING SHIP INFANTRY (MEDIUM)---LSI(M)
HMS Prince Henry 528th Assault Flotilla: 8-LCA
HMS Queen Emma 526th Assault Flotilla: 8-LCA

LANDING SHIP INFANTRY (HAND HOIST)---LSI(H)
SS Canterbury 509th Assault Flotilla: 6-LCA
SS Duke of Argyll 517th Assault Flotilla: 6-LCA
SS Invicta 510th Assault Flotilla: 6-LCA
SS Isle of Thanet 505th Assault Flotilla: 6-LCA
SS Lairds Isle 516th Assault Flotilla: 6-LCA
SS Mecklenburg 511th Assault Flotilla: 6-LCA
SS Ulster Monarch 521st Assault Flotilla: 5-LCA

So, the Regina Rifles had to be onboard one of these ships or craft. You can focus your search. Hope this info helps. Derek.
