I cannot speak for CMPs out East, but I do have some experience with CMPs on the prairie. In my experience, we usually find the Chev CMPs with decent powertrains (other than the engine) and the 216 usually sprayed enough oil to keep the bodywork preserved. The decent powertrain was because the Chev engines did not last that long.

The Fords, however, will be found with engines still workable, but power-trains will be worn from decades of long service The bodies will usually still be reasonable, but are most likely to have succumbed to farmers modifications over the multi generations of service.

Neil, there are 8cwts kicking around Manitoba/Saskatchewan that remain unwanted due to that tire size. Someone in the prairie command club will know just the truck for you. Shame you were not looking for a 15cwt. There are a few up for grabs in our area right now.
